Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing an inspirational card for this weeks Simon Says Clean and Simple Challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Stamp Wednesdays Challenge Blog. I love any kind of challenge that has clean and simple in the title so I just had to whip up a card to share. I've had this fabulous stamp set and damask tissuestock from Canvas Corp sitting on my desk for a week or two now. I thought it was about time I used them so I went ahead and used them for this challenge. I started by wrinkling up a square piece of the damask tissuestock and then straight stitched it to the cardbase. Then I cut, stamped,  distressed, and stitched around the edges of a panel of black thickstock. I added the panel to the center of my tissuestock. I pulled out some ivory cardstock and stamped all of my images in black. Then I cut each one out, distressed the edges and added them to the card front.

Above is a closer look at the stamped images. I hope you enjoyed my inspirational card today! Thanks for visiting!

CCB Crew Challenge: Invites

Hello everyone! Today I have a couple of baby invites and a cute little matching baby announcement to share. I created these for this weeks Crew Challenge over at The Creative Studio Blog. This weeks challenge is called "Invite Us" and its all about invites. You can find the challenge HERE

I found these fabulous printable party invitations over at HGTV under their Party Planning 101 section and just had to use them. They are a simple chevron-patterned invitation in a variety of vibrant hues, including yellow, orange, turquoise and pink. I printed out the turquoise ones thinking the color would match my patterned paper but the color was a little to bright so I ended up covering the printed pattern at the bottom with my patterned paper. I also cut and added a little matching banner to the top left of my invitations along with a gold star embellishment.

After I had my invitations made I thought it would be fun to create a few matching baby announcements. I found this adorable little baby diaper pattern on Pinterest one day as I was browsing through some DIY projects and ended up pining it to one of my boards. The tutorial is in Spanish but once you print the pattern its pretty easy to create. If you end up printing the pattern make sure you select fit to page otherwise the pattern will end up printing off the page. I went with some fun polka dot patterned paper from Canvas Corp for the outside of  the pattern and a ivory cardstock for the inside. I also stamped the insert with a baby announcement stamp and added some ribbon and a little tag to the outside. You can check out a close up of the insert below.

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to stop by The Creative Studio to check out the rest of the design teams invites.

CCB Crew Challenge: Kids Can Do It

Hello everyone! I created this colorful little hair tie for this weeks Crew Challenge over at The Creative Studio Blog. This week we were challenged to share some fun creative ideas for kids that they would be proud of to create. Since I don't have any little ones at home I attempted this challenge on my own. I thought I would go with something that was cute, bright, and super easy to create that any little girl would love. Every little girl loves colorful hair ties and headbands, so I went with that. Below are a few step by step photos and tutorial.

Step 1.  Die cut or punch five circles out of a hot pink burlap sheet.

Step 2. Stack the circles and punch a hole in the center of them. I  stacked two at a time and punched a hole in the middle of them with my Crop-A-Dile

Step 3  Cut an opening in your hair tie and thread both ends through all five burlap circles.

Step 4. Thread one side of the hair tie through the back of the button and tie it to the other side. After you have both ends of your hair tie tied together and your button attached trim the end pieces so they are not showing. Thats it you have a completed hair tie that any little girl would love. You could even use this same tutorial and create a grown up version of this that any teenager or women would love to wear. Canvas Corp offers a wide range of canvas and paper items that are just waiting to be painted, stamped, inked, misted and more and the end result can be amazing. Check out all the items in the shop HERE. Thanks for visiting!

Hello everyone! On Monday I shared a fun colorful Nautical themed card that I created with one of Canvas Corp's newest collections. Today I'm sharing another Nautical themed card with a Natural color combo. Below are a few step by step photos and tutorial.

Step 1: Stamp the entire 5 x 7 kraft card front with a text stamp in a chocolate ink. After the card front is stamped mist and splatter with Tattered Angles Roll Top Glimmer mist.

Step 2: Cut out one of the patterned pages and one of the banner images from the little chocolate pages on ivory paper. Stamp the Oceans sentiment from the Under The Sea stamp set onto the ivory banner in chocolate ink.

Step 3: Cut out the sea shell image from the Sand & Sea Pages on kraft. Mist with Tattered Angles Roll Top Desk Glimmer mist. To get even coverage use a paint brush to blend the mist into the paper.

Step 4: After the sea shell paper has dried attach it to the patterned page you cut out in step 2.

Step 5: Add some stitching around the panels edges with some ivory thread.

Step 6: Attach the stamped banner to the upper right side of the panel. Tie and attach a bow of waxed cotton cord over the banners and then add a little natural clothespin on top of the cord. Attach the entire panel to the Kraft card front and the card is complete.

It's time for another "Anything Goes" Challenge ( one of my favorites ) over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog so I will be linking this card up over there. I hope you enjoyed my tutorial today! I will be back in a day or two with another project. Thanks for visiting!

Catch Of The Day

Hello everyone and Happy Monday! Super excited to share my first card using products from one of Canvas Corps newest lines Classic Nautical. Its so fabulous, so loving all the fun patterns and the sampler sheets are amazing. I used the Navy and Ivory Anchor Paper to create my 5 x 7 card base and the lobster image from the Sand & Sea Art Pages on Kraft Paper as my main focal image. After I had my card base made I layered the text stamped panel and the misted lobster panel together and added the "Catch Of The Day" sentiment to the bottom right of my image with some dark blue hemp rope and a mini clothespin. I also added a little banner towards the top left of my card with a small staple to tie everything together.

I created the misted lobster panel by laying two different colored Tattered Angles mist. I started by misting the panel with Tattered Angles Gerber Baseboard Mist and then I misted it again with Tattered Angles Rum Punch Glimmer Mist. I really love how the color turned out. I hope you enjoyed my card today. I will be back tomorrow with another nautical themed card. Thanks for visiting.

Bella Rouge- Hello Love Layout

Hello everyone! Today I have a 12 x 12 layout to share featuring lots of goodies from Pink Paislee's Bella Rogue Collection. I recently won this collection from Scrapbook & Cards Today. When it arrived I was not disappointed, the colors and patterns are fabulous. There is a new challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog called Simon Says Special Lady/Girly and I thought it would be perfect for this collection. So I pulled out a bunch of patterned paper and embellishments and got to scrapping.

I really love the the printed transparent alphas and all the colorful chipboard stickers in this collection, their perfect for mixing and matching. I spelled out Hello with the printed transparent alphabet to create my title and attached them with some mini staples.

Here is one more close up of  the top left of my photo.....a few more cute chipboard embellishments and a fabulous little washi sentiment. Be sure to check out this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge HERE. Thanks for visiting!

Planner, Sketch Book, Journal & A Giveaway

Hello everyone. Today I have a little something different to share. It's still paper related but instead of cards and layouts its all about journals, planners, and sketch books. Over the last couple of years I have seen a real surge among crafters who have developed a real love for planners, journals, and sketch books. So I thought it would be fun to share a few of my own along with how I use them. I also have a journal to giveaway so make sure you scroll to the end for all the details.

The are multiple planners available on the market these days, from the cheap to they very expensive. Over the years it seems like I have dabbled in them all. Student planners, daily planners, weekly planners, monthly planners, cheap, expensive, and I have even printed my own. Printing my own has been what I have stuck with over the last few years. It's cheap and easy and its what works best for me. There are lots of free printable calenders available from daily, weekly, monthly, and even yearly. I usually go with a monthly calender. I found this fabulous printable calender from over on Pinterest called Love Life 2015 Calender. There is a horizontal and vertical version to print depending on what style you like. I love the fun bright colors and every month has a different color. There are lots of other freebies that coordinate with this calender as well. Click HERE to see them all.

If your any thing like me then you follow, pin and participate in many different challenges. From the weekly, monthly, card sketches, scrapbook sketches, and color combos. It can be a real challenge keeping track of all of them and their due dates. So I thought it would be fun to create my own little sketch book to keep track of all the challenges I like to participate in.  Check it out!

This cute little sketch book was so easy to create. All I used was some patterned cardsotck for the cover, graph paper for the inside, and some staples to hold the entire thing together. I went with some white chevron patterned kraft paper for my cover. I put the patterned side in the inside and the blank side on the outside that way I could add some stamping or doodling. As you can see I have a cute little elephant witha banner stamped on the front of mine. The graph paper in the inside has been great, its super easy to draw out card/scrapbooking sketches. Below is a couple of current photos of the inside.

Besides my planner and sketch book I also use a little journal to jot stuff down, keep track of all my design team commitments, and keep track of all the supplies I use for certain projects. The journal I'm currently using is from Sarah Haffner's 2 Bee Press Etsy Shop, its called Whale Fluke and measures 3½" x 5½". I absolutely love this little journal. It fits in my purse nicely and it makes the perfect little travel journal.

Isn't it cute and guess what? Sarah was nice enough to send me two of her fabulous pocket sized journals so I have one of them to giveaway. I'm giving away the one pictured below!

GIVEAWAY:  I'm giving away this Kraft Bicycle themed pocket journal. The journal measures 3½" x 5½" and has 64 pages with a handy inner pocket for ticket stubs, receipts or photos. The last 16 pages of the journal are detachable.  This small journal will fit nicely in your pocket, purse or backpack and be within reach at a moment's notice! Journal comes with a free gift tag/bookmark. To enter all you have to do is leave a comment below. For extra entries become a blog follower or click on over to Sarah's 2 Bee Press Etsy Shop and tell me which journal is your favorite. You have until Saturday, March 21st to enter. Thanks for visiting!

If Your Ship Doesn't Come In, Sail Out To Meet It

Hello everyone. Today I'm sharing two different sea themed tags featuring Canvas Corp patterned paper, a Hampton Art 7 Gypsies stamp set, and some Tattered Angles mist.

I started by cutting a tag out of some striped navy & ivory patterned paper. I misted and splattered the entire tag front with some Beetle Black Tattered Angles mist and set it aside to dry. After the mist had completely dried I randomly stamped some nautical text in black ink across the entire tag. I wanted add a little cluster of images onto the bottom right side of my tag so I stamped a sea shell, a starfish, and a seahorse onto so ivory cardstock and cut them out. To add a little dimension to my images I just added a little bit of adhesive to the back, over lapped them, and lifted the edges with my fingers. To finish I added the oval sentiment to the top and centered it and then added some jute cord. You can see a close up below.

I created the second tag the same way I did the first tag I just used different patterned paper, a different sentiment, and I didn't add any stamping to this one.

I went with some navy blue and ivory anchor paper for this tag and I also used a larger sentiment from the Canvas Corp Nautical Sayings Paper Sheet. I really love how the pair of these turned out. I think its the navy, ivory, and black color combo that I love the most.

It's the first anything goes challenge of 2015 over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog so I'm linking these two up over for this weeks challenge. You can check out all the challenge details HERE. Thanks for visiting.
